Announcements, Park visits, Training, and Tip of the Week
No more 3G by 2020Verizon Wireless sent an important update to their services regarding all 3G service areas and antennas. They will be shutting down all 3G series by December 31, 2019. What does this mean for you? If you own a 3G CradlePoint (See image for reference), then you will need to upgrade to a newer 4G/LTE CradlePoint device before the deadline. Fill out the form if you have any questions or if you want a quote to upgrade your older 3G device. EliXR Plattform RegistersChances are, you have one of these registers as they were our most popular model over the last 10 years. Datasym will not be supporting this register type come January 2019 but we will continue to support it. What does this mean for you? If something were to break on your register, we will only have access to very limited parts. We will continue to support the software licensing and programming as normal. Now that the bad news is out of the way, we are so happy to announce that we have 5 new register types including a tablet!!! We couldn't be happier with how they turned out and their performance. The PartnerTech SP-850 also comes in a "Sunlight" model. To give you an idea, normal monitors have a brightness of 250 nits to 400 nits. The SP-850 Sunlight has 1000 nits. We saw this at a retail expo in Vegas last summer and it is very bright! Perfect for outdoor exposures. Here are our new register types! If you want more product info or pricing, please reach out to Accounting@NPSsupport.com or fill out the form below. We had a pesky bug enter our systems this summer and we are proud to say, we have a fix!
This bug would allow a visitor to come to the park and pay for part of their entrance fee with a credit/debit/gift card. If the visitor had no other card to swipe to process the rest of the fee, it would freeze up the register and the only way out was to do a power cycle. This would process the partial amount of the fee but loose all transaction history with no receipts. We are sorry this happened during the busiest time of year and we did implement some temporary changes that worked but it didn't reach all of you. We have a new flash version of DatasymPro that eliminates this very issue. So, if you are affected by this and still do not have this update, please call and schedule with the support team to get this done. We will be very happy to help you through the process. It takes about 5-10 min per register. There are a few very important steps in doing this. 1) We are "Flashing" the register which means all data will be deleted. So, we will need to poll with USB/Comm2000 right before we flash that specific register. We also need to make sure that no sales are processed on it until the updated is finalized. This is per register. If you have multiple registers, we will be polling multiple times. 2) X and Z Tapes need to be ran 3) A shift report or end of day report will also need to be filled out...even if it is not the end of day. Please follow your Fee Managers instructions on the best policy before proceeding with this step. The next step is to download the new flash from our Downloads section or click this link: Download File The next few steps require a member of our support staff. Please call or email us to get that scheduled at: (801) 399-9200 or HelpDesk@NPSsupport.com Thank all of you for your patience with us as we have worked tirelessly to get this resolved. We appreciate all of your support and continued partnerships as we look forward to a great FY2018!
As always, if you have any questions about this process, please contact us.
This past weekend, nearly all of the parks that we service had the joy of moving an hour ahead on the clock. Many of you probably realized this as you went to your registers and they all had the wrong time on them. Having a accurate time on the registers is extremely important because of the effect time has on many of the reports. Most of the registers out there will have automatically update with their first communication with Comm2000. For those of you who still have the wrong time on your machines, here is how to update that.
Daylight savings can be a pain in many aspects of our lives, but fortunately updating the time on your registers does not need to be too much of a hassle. |
