We drove to Saguaro National Park with the expectation of doing a routine checkup on their registers, but discovered some surprises in their innovative fee program that have inspired us to consider some new possibilities.

We were met by Shawn Hall who began showing us how they have managed the two Entrance Stations and several Trail Heads within the park. Collecting fees at the Entrance Stations is pretty straight forward with hired attendants working the registers. But how do they collect fees at the Trail Heads where parks commonly will leave a box and hope that visitors are carrying cash? 

With technology of course!

Shawn has developed a system where any visitor with a phone, (which is probably most of them), can simply scan a QR code and pay the fees online. They receive an email receipt and one is also sent to Shawn so that he can keep his records up to date.

We are excited to explore the possibilities this means for the other parks we work with. 

Our visit to this beautiful National Park was both fun and informative and we can't wait to work with these great people again.

In preparation for EMV, we will need some information from each of your EliXR Keyboard, EliXR Touch and EliXR Duo register systems. The information we need is the DatasymPRO Version, Serial Number and MAC Address from each register. Luckily, the 900 Report is a very easy way for you to find these things. 

To run the 900 Report do the following:

1) Switch to Service Mode

2) Type in 900 - Enter - Decimal

A long receipt will print out and at the bottom you will find all three bits of information conveniently listed out. Below is an image of what your receipt should look like.
