Installation at Pipe Springs National Monument

6/1/2016

We enjoy visiting and installing new equipment at all of the parks we service, but few of them have such rich history as Pipe Springs National Monument. With the presence of ancient Natives and new settlers, this site became a focal point for many events that changed the future of the West. We always love working at parks like this that have such great stories to tell.

Pipe Springs has taken a step forward with the installation of a new EliXR Duo Touchscreen register. The new equipment and program layout were put in place with the hopes of making the fee collection process more efficient and easier to learn. Another advantage is that if any future programming needs to occur, the layout and programming can be changed very quickly.

We worked with Paula, Katelyn and Sarah to make sure that the system would meet the needs of Pipe Springs. They were extremely helpful and a joy to work with. We are excited that Pipe Springs now has this updated technology installed and we look forward to working with them for many years to come.

Touchscreen Upgrade at Glen Canyon

3/30/2016

We do a lot of register installations at National Parks, but few of them have been as fun as working at Glen Canyon. We went with the purpose of upgrading their EliXR controllers from keyboard models to touchscreen models. These touchscreens have all of the capabilities of the EliXR Duo, so when we heard that Glen Canyon had the controllers, we seriously suggested that they use them to upgrade to touchscreens.
Our favorite part of the install was taking a plane up to the Bullfrog and Halls Crossing locations. One of our technicians described it as "riding a motorcycle in the sky". The views of Glen Canyon are great from the ground, but from above they are magnificent! It really is a beautiful park.

We really had a great time working with Elouise and Jason to install these new upgrades and we will continue to work with them to continually improve the Fee Program at Glen Canyon. We know that the park will enjoy using their new systems.

Working With Blue Ridge Parkway

3/16/2016

Blue Ridge Parkway is a completely unique place to manage a Fee Program. When a Park is nearly 500 miles long, it can be difficult to keep everything running smoothly. However, the wonderful people at the Parkway manage it every day. Despite having several locations that are considered very remote, we are working hard with them to give them every Advantage the other Parks we work with enjoy.

The greatest challenge a Park like this faces is communications. The distance between each location and headquarters is a lot more than normal so it is difficult to create solid and consistent connections. After some trial and error, with the help of Debbie and Monte, all of the locations are up and running.

We truly enjoy working with Blue Ridge Parkway and helping them with the unique challenges the area presents. The staff has been very supportive in our efforts to improve the fee collection systems we have set up there. We look forward to our continued work with the Parkway!

Upgrade Install at Zion National Park

3/9/2016

It was another great trip to Zion National Park and this time we were excited to be upgrading the Park registers to EliXR Duos. We always like seeing a park upgrading their equipment because we know that it will very much improve their Fee Programs. With the new Touchscreen layouts they will enjoy easier transactions and fewer issues.

While we were there, we met with Fee Manager Alta Blietz and also Patti and Ashley. They helped us to understand the unique needs of the Park and we discussed with them the different things we could do to make it work for them.

The actual installation went more smoothly than we could have hoped for thanks to the the Park IT staff, Mike and Evan. They had recently installed Fiber Optic connections which seriously helped with the communications between the registers and the main office.

We are grateful to have Zion National Park as one of our clients and we look forward to working with them for many more years.

Working With Arches National Park

1/13/2016

Arches National Park is such a unique place to be that we can't help but be excited when we have the opportunity to work there. The natural beauty is stunning so it is no wonder that it is one of the most popular National Parks in the country.

We came up here to do a pretty routine install with the registers with Arches NP Fee Manager, Jodi Rupp. They really wanted touchscreens across the park and we were able to come up with a great solution that saved them some money. We did install three all new EliXR Duo systems in the areas where they have the most traffic, but their other locations were different. We were able to take their current EliXR keyboard registers and integrate them with some new touchscreen displays. In this way they were able to maintain most of their equipment and still have all of the functionality of a much more current system.

It is great when we work on an install that goes as seamlessly as this one. The fact that Arches has invested in a park wide Network System makes our work go much more smoothly. We are always happy to come and work up here and proud to have Arches National Park as a client.
